At the first round of the Blancpain Sprint Series in the French Nogaro, Rinaldi Racing experienced a sovereign start into the new season. Marco Seefried and Norbert Siedler at the wheel of a Ferrari Italia 458 finished the race on Easter Monday on fifth position. Already one day before at the circuit in South France the duo managed to surprise with fourth rank.

“The intensive preparation has paid off”, team manager Michele Rinaldi was pleased. “Although the track in Nogaro doesn’t cope with our Ferrari, Marco and Norbert managed to show that we are able to fight at the top of the championship.” At bright sunshine Marco Seefried had a good start and put a solid base for the remainder of the main race over a distance of one hour. With a flawless drive he was able to maintain his position in the top group and handed over the car at half-time of the race to Norbert Siedler. “Marco delivered a real strong performance”, the Austrian praised his team mate. “In the second half of the race it was then up to me to defend fifth position. That was a tough job against the Audi, and that’s also the reason why I really enjoy this successful start into the season.”

Already on Easter Sunday the GT experts Seefried and Siedler provided a small surprise. After a turbulent start in the qualifying race the duo at the wheel of the only Ferrari in the field saw the chequered flag on fourth position. With that Seefried and Siedler qualified for the second row in the starting grid of the main race of the Easter Cup. “We have been competitive at the whole weekend. The complete team has made a tremendous job”, Michele Rinaldi was proud.

Without a break the entire team now travels to Italy. Already at the next weekend (April 11th to 12th) the Blancpain Endurance Serie celebrates its season opener as well. The first of altogether five rounds of the series takes place on the 5.93 kilometres long traditional Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.
